MY GL1000

This is what I have been working on lately, my GL1000. Got the webers set up, a new exhaust built and added the cafe/tracker style seat unit. I think I finally got all the bugs worked out and have put about 600 miles on it so far, without any issues. We also got Chucks Gold Wing pretty much finished up and I will have some good photos in a few days. Got started back on Russ's xs race bike, got the frame ready for paint, and will get started on that in a few days, then it will be time for final assembly when things will finally start staying together, instead of always coming back apart. Also did a little service work on a nice little Shadow 1100, just had it for a few days, would love to get some little jobs like that coming in.I know the post,s have been lacking lately, but I will get busy and start taking more pics and making more posts. Thanks for reading this crap and stayed tuned, big things are gonna be happening at the shop.

SHOP WORK

We got the rear sub frame fabbed up for Stevens CB750 project. Steven had some arcgs bent up with 1 1/8 DOM tubingand went over to a buddy's and bent the tight bend for the very back of the frame. Progress is moving right along, starting on oil tank and seat, and mounting the gas tank next Saturday.

We also got the forks rebuilt and everything painted up and put back on the bike, and also rebuilt the water pump and installed the new timing belts.

SHOP WORK

This is Stevens CB750 Cafe project he is building. We built the motor for it last fall, and he brought it back over for us to add the GSXR swing arm and monoshock. We used the stock cb inner bushing, turned it down to fit inside the Suzuki swingarm, then make two spacers to center it in the frame and that got it hanging on the frame. Then we made  the lower linkage mount out of rectangular tubing, then made a triangulated upper mount from 1 inch round tubing. So far everything looks good. Next we will take some arched round tubing and make the back half of the frame. It will also get a cafe tail section that will serve as the oil tank. Steven kind of likes the look of the 250 Suzuki tank on it, so it might go home with him also. When this bike is done, Steven will have built quite a head turner.
I also made a new seat set up on my CB. Upper photo.
This is the seat I just made last fall. Set me too close to the tank, makeing it to tight for my long legs. I think the new set up will be much better.

SHOP WORK

A good day in the shop today. Got Russ's XS pulled down to the frame, prepareing to redo a few things on the frame then have it powder coated. We also pulled the radiator and the front of the motor off of Chucks Wing to service  the cooling system and replace the water pump  Also got Brady's CB750 into the shop, it gets wireng plumbing, and get it running, then he will tear it down for paint. This is Brady's first chop, but by looking at it, you would think he has been building bikes for years. This will be the nicest chop I have ever had a hand in. I am honored to be working on it.

CHUCK'S GOLDWING

Today in the shop we mounted a 160 tire on a 4 inch rim for Chucks Goldwing. We also mounted the tail light and lisenceplate mount under the fender. Then mounted the turn signals on the fender struts. These changes really made the rear of this bike look unique. We then pulled apart the front end, and removed the tins. While disassembling the forks we stripped out head on one of the bottom allen bolts that hold the fork assembly  together, some dumb fuck used locktight on these. We got lucky and drilled the head off of the bolt and pulled the assembly apart then removed what was left of the bolt with visegrips. Got lucky!

XS650 UPGRADES

Took the SR out of the shop for now and brought in my XS650. King Sportster tank, real battery, new headlights, turn signals, oil cooler, better sump filter, and leftside scrambler style pipes. This is my everyday rider. Just making things a little better functioning.

CHUCK'S GL1000

Chuck, Joe, and I worked on Chucks wing project Saturday. Modified a set of FLH shocks to help lower the rear a bit, narrowed up a piece of a  fender blank left from another project for the rear, and narrowed and chopped a Fat Boy fender for the front. Then we cut up his origanal seat to make a comfortable solo unit and have it ready for upholstery. It was a good day for the 3 amigos.

SR500 PROJECT

Picked up some HD hand controls on ebay lately cheap.
With a little trimming I got them shaped up with a 60 grit flapper wheel. Now I will work them down with sandpaper until I get them slick enough to polish.

Got my Progresive shocks today. 13 inch Dyna shocks are just right. Starting to look like a street tracker.
Got a xt500 brake pedal and pivot for drum brakes, will adapt them to work with my rear master cylinder and disc brake.Thats it for now, I will have another report after I make a little headway.

sr500 project

Along with Verns bike we got a little work done on my SR500. Got the tank cleaned treated and lined with a POR15 tank lining kit. Stripped off  the paint on the outside and got it sanded down ready for body work. Got parts and tires ordered for it, should be here this week. Put the numberplate / headlight on it, and starting to like it. Another good weekend of work with Vern and Chuck, had a great time. Johnny also came by to pick up his cb motor to put in his chopper project to mock up his rear wheel, and other parts. His chopper is looking to be one of the best custom CB's around without a doubt.
